Slow-Mo
When I first thought about taking weight loss supplements DH got really upset and I think he thought that I wanted to be skinny so I could meet some one else. Not really. He's obviously in another world from reality because I do so much I just don't have enough natural energy to keep up with everything. I never really thought that I'd be sitting at home with kids and end up with no social life but yet it's happened. Ah well, I'm good at what I do at least I know that much. LOL
Skin and Food
I've heard that phisoderm cleanser is a really good product but on some level I kind of wonder if my diet (or lack there of) or something else is causing my skin to break out. I'm not really sure I have the patience or energy to take note of what I'm eating when and eliminate foods to see what my reaction is though. It may be a good idea given that we can have reactions to everything and many of us react to gluten and don't even realize what we think is a minor issue is connected to it. Maybe that will be something I'll find fun to test during the summer.
Growing Up...SLOWLY
No-No is really not all "gung-ho" about becoming a little girl. I finally got her big girl bed set up and all she wants to do is sleep in our bed. I think it's all that time with her bed next to ours that's coming back to bite. She inherited Yes-Yes's slide bed and I painted it and set it up so that she has a little play area and mini bed underneath with her big girl bed on top. She'll nap in either of the beds but not sleep in it at night. The potty training went by the wayside too. I'm lucky if I can get her to go once a day, which totally stinks since I almost had her going all the time. It's back to square one with everything and it's totally wearing me down.
Breaking Out
I never really thought that I would have to deal with adult acne but might have guessed since I didn't have any problems when I was a teen. The part that stinks is that it's harder to get rid of and I must have like every type there is on my face at once. I constantly have to change my regimen because after a while the one I'm using won't work and another plan will have to be thought out. It's really frustrating to say the least!
Up in Smoke
For some reason the smell of a cigar can be a homey, warm and comforting feeling. I've never really figured out why but there's some thing about it. There's a shop downtown that sells a variety of premium cigars like Dutch Masters and you can always find a few guys outside enjoying a smoke. I've never really understood what the deal with cigars is but it seems like they're comparable to wines. Good for some people but not my taste really. I do like the boxes though. lol
Computer Clutter
I have a really hard time keeping myself organized and it's spread to my computer too. I have tons of files and I try to stay on top of putting them into folders and such but it still doesn't really work out too well some times and I still end up not knowing where things are. I was thinking of getting some kind of scanning software but I'm not sure what it does really and if it'll be something for me. It's just one of the many things I need to check out to hopefully make things easier for me.

Formal Attire
Why is it that you hardly ever have a reason to wear anything formal anymore? It makes me wonder how the dress and tuxedo shops that are left stay in business. Years ago we stopped wearing anything nicer at our family Christmas and so many people don't even wear a tux at their weddings anymore. It seems like everything is so casual now. Personally I always liked getting dressed up even if it was to go no where special. There's a certain feeling about it that you can't really duplicate and it really puts an emphasis on just how special the day is. I just don't really understand what's going on with this kind of thing.
The Job Hunt
It seems like it's still so difficult to get a job around here. Employers still have so many applicants to choose from that people dumb down their resumes and the competition gets really difficult. Not only that, the employment screening some times takes SO long that it's almost like sheer will to get through it. Have you ever tried to fill out those electronic applications? My goodness! I was SO glad that I didn't have to do that when I got hired at Nordstrom, theirs is SO incredibly long it's not even funny! I totally understand why they have those, and it is a great idea to weed through people that can't sit there and answer the questions differently than their ideal employee. I hope the job market gets better soon for all those people that still haven't gotten anything to pay the bills. I can't even imagine what that's like even with the little bit of income we have.

Expensive Poop
We haven't been fully able to keep up with the cats' litter boxes recently. I'm thinking it may have been a switch in litter but it's not as clean and it's smellier than normal too. I thought about getting a LitterMaid but after reading all the extremely poor reviews I decided not to. There's also the Omega manual box that you roll around to sift, which isn't exactly an automatic litter box is it? The only other one that seems worth checking out is the Litter Robot, which is this spherical thing that rolls around and sifts for you. It looks great and all the reviews are pretty awesome but the price is outrageously high for a toilet of any kind. The things that keep drawing me back are the 30-day return policy and payment plan. Really though, isn't it kind of extreme to have a payment plan for something like this? How much do you wanna bet I'll end up with one anyway? LOL!

Swipe It
Isn't it funny how such a big company like Nordstrom only recently changed to a POS system? It actually still needs a lot of work for everything that they want it to do but it's pretty good so far. I remember when I started there they had the yellow screened monitors with the credit swipers and people always would ask why we hadn't upgraded yet, like we knew. LOL
It's interesting to see what people do at each job I've held. Some had computer print outs while others used something like that Epson tm-t88iv receipt printer. That job made things really easy with touch screen registers and big buttons to push that clearly made sense. Too bad that was one of the worst places to work but the experience was good at least.

Job #3?
I feel bad for one of my old friends. She's a single mom of two that's had the worst luck with the jobs she's found around here. She's had to work with what ever she could get which means she's working part time jobs and as many of them as she can find. As it is she's working for one of our friends, as a personal assistant and is on-call for another one and the worst part is that she still needs something else. I've tried to get her to do what I do but I don't think she has the patience for it. I thought it would be great for her since she can do it from home and be with her kids. So now she's out there looking for anything ranging from baker to admin jobs and getting no where fast. It's hard to see her struggle and have to fight with one of the girls' dads too. I hope she gets something better, soon!
Just Plain Ugly
It's no secret, I can't stand the light fixtures that are in my room. They give off some of the worst light ever and we can barely see anything. The rest of the ones in the house are crummy too and they all need changing but since I'm redoing our room I think it's time for a switch. I saw some nice Golden lighting fixtures but I'm not sure they'll go with the color scheme I'm using so if I can't find anything else I may have to paint them. No matter what it will be better than what we have now for sure.
Happy (Belated) New Year!
Okay, I'm Chinese but I don't celebrate the new year like many others do. I watch the parade if I remember and that's about it, LOL. Anyway, according to something my mom read this year isn't a normal Year of the Tiger. It's supposedly one of those "other" meaning years (kind of like a blue moon or something) and they're calling it the Year of the METAL Tiger. So what does this mean? I'm not really sure but from what she said it's a year of major change and most of it will have violent impact. This means that people are supposed to have more accidents, crime and all that "good stuff". Just what I need! Maybe we should all be checking into life insurance rates just in case because if it's anything worse than what's already happened to me I'm really gonna need it!
Children's Programming
When I was little PBS was full of though provoking shows for kids that included shows about math and science. When I had Yes-Yes it had gone down but was still semi-interesting. Now with No-No there isn't anything on there that exposes kids to anything useful at an early age besides Sesame Street and even that's gone downhill. Okay there's Word Girl but it's so fast and squeaky that you can't even tell what they're saying anyway.
I owe many of my skills now to what I learned from PBS. I'm not sure there were many kids sneaking a late night session of Eureka when I was but man did it help in 8th grade when I got to physics! In fact, we had to watch all the episodes as part of our studies and I had seen them all already, how funny is that? In 5th grade it was Voyage of the Mimi which was about a kid and his grandpa who hosted a bunch of scientists studying whales. I think I was one of the only ones to know that Ben Affleck was the kid on that show when he hit it big!
It really is SUCH a shame to see PBS's programming going to such crap and I wish they'd bring back some of the old shows so my kids don't end up as stupid as some of the ones in the recent generations.
