Formal Attire

Why is it that you hardly ever have a reason to wear anything formal anymore? It makes me wonder how the dress and tuxedo shops that are left stay in business. Years ago we stopped wearing anything nicer at our family Christmas and so many people don't even wear a tux at their weddings anymore. It seems like everything is so casual now. Personally I always liked getting dressed up even if it was to go no where special. There's a certain feeling about it that you can't really duplicate and it really puts an emphasis on just how special the day is. I just don't really understand what's going on with this kind of thing.
