Delayed

Yes-Yes was a late talker and I'm facing the same thing with No-No as is one of my friends with her son. I know the rumor is that boys always are later in development but I really thought she would be a lot faster. Maybe I was just praying she'd be more like me (in the good ways) and be talking by the time she was one. She still isn't.

So the next step is some form of therapy but I'm not sure how we can go about it. When I looked into it for her brother the doctor told me that the only way the insurance would cover it is if we were looking into adhd symptoms and it was still going to cost an arm and a leg. Needless to say we don't have that kind of money no matter what the deal is. At least she shows more signs of steady improvement than her brother.

Family Feud

Okay, it was enjoyable except for dh going off on my father in law when he stopped by. They haven't been getting on lately and dh told him not to come over. Of course he's not going to listen and think that there's no problem at all so he did and there was a blow up. I can understand dh's position completely and can't understand why his dad has to be a butt about it but he's just that way. Dh is glad that we ended up not being able to afford the discount cigars that we thought of getting for him of course and I really couldn't care either way. After 15 years I've only gotten 2-3 gifts from that man and with the history we all have anyone would expect that I would get SOMETHING. It really doesn't bother me all that much so it's okay. It's just funny how it's "not the holidays" without some kind of drama.

It's Over!

I'm SO glad the holidays are over...well, at least Christmas is. I've been doing nothing but cleaning for weeks and nothing but working before that. I've had a few days of rest but nothing all THAT great and now it's already time to start all over again.

All my work did pay off in the end though and the kids are happy with what they got. Even with Yes-Yes's video game expense I still ended up being able to get them the things they wanted. Both are glued to their new things and all is good...for now. LOL

I hope everyone has enjoyed their holiday too!

They're Gone

I can't remember if I wrote about my neighbors that just moved to New York or not...but their adventure has begun. They decided to use cross country moving companies to ship their stuff and they're travelling as they go. How fun is that? Hopefully their stuff will be there when they get there because they have two young kids who will be expecting to see something familiar. I'm kind of jealous, I'd love to see all the National Parks and different towns along the way. Okay, not with two kids but you know. LOL!

Leaving on a Jet Plane...

I wish I could get up and get away right now. The miami hotel deals are calling. LOL! I miss being able to enjoy my days, let alone holidays, and relax with a very limited amount of stress. I know that once the holidays are over everything will clam down again but I'll still have to work. Ick. I'd say I'd love to win the lottery but I'm not sure anyone has the kind of money I might spend on tickets. LOL

Mommy's Girl

I think when we found out we were having a girl, DH pictured this whole thing differently. He probably though about a sweet little thing in a dress with a teeny little voice. Instead we got a booger monster taht runs around terrorizing everything in her path. She's demanding and whiney and can't stand not being the focus of attention in any room.

The only exception is when she's out with me shopping or running errands. She's the sweet little thing that holds a high curiosity for everything she comes across and is always by my side holding my hand. Now if her brother or dad was with us that would again be another story because she can't be good when they're around. Sometimes I just want to throw them in the backyard so she can be normal. LOL!

Retreat

I wish that we had a really nice backyard that we could use. Up until the last week or so the weather was rather mild and it was really nice to be outside. The problem is that we have no where to really sit. Sure we have chairs and tables but they're on a concrete slab way out there and it's just not comfortable. The only outdoor lighting that there is is a socket for one light bulb on the wall and a motion sensor light which only has one functioning bulb right now too. So if it were a really nice night you wouldn't be able to see anything either! It's such a waste of space right now.

The Party

This year our family Christmas Eve party is at our house. It's really nice when it's here so we don't have to travel, especially when it's night time and freezing, but now I have to run around cleaning everything from top to bottom.

Then there's the TV issue. All the kids are roughly the same age and the only thing they do here is play video games. It's so annoying because they barely even talk to each other let alone know names. It's embarrassing. The other family that hosts it has a game room with a pool, air hockey, and ping pong table so at least there's something else to do than there is here. I hope no one gets bored this time.

Toast

I've been working like mad, not sleeping, stressing out and now I'm paying for it. I finally got sick. Last year was a lot worse and this is the first time so far so that's good, I guess. I really hope No-No doesn't get sick, I'll really worry if she does. I get to thank DH for the privilege this time around since he was so kind to cough it all over the place and breathe in my face at night. Next time he's sleeping some where else. LOL
