I'm Excited!
It's looking more and more possible that we're going to Disneyland before the year is out...woohoo! I really hope that it works out. Of course, the further away you stay, the cheaper the trip becomes (which stinks in its own way) but the good thing is that there are SO many hotels to choose from that it's not all that impossible. There's a whole bunch of new hotels from Choice Hotels and they include suite hotels, which is what I've been looking for since we have so many people. The bad part is that the new one in that area is like 3 miles away...the good part is that we might drive so we'll have a car. I was hoping to fly and cut the travel time WAY down but we'll see. Who cares, we'll be out of here!

Summer Vacation
Disney has been running a lot of promotions lately and I SO want to go. Yeah, I've been talking about vacations non stop I know. Anyway, so we finally have enough money and guess what? I go to the stupid site and find out that the hotels that we wanted to stay in are booked. Just my luck. Everyone else must have been doing the same thing. We would get a better deal if we stayed about a mile away from the park but omg, a mile! No hopping to and from and it would be one hell of a day staying there all day long, especially with No-No. No thank you. I did consider just going to Legoland instead and found a pretty good San Diego hotel but it's SO not the same. I think I may just call an agent and see what they have in the system. We've really gotta get out of here!
Almost in Business
YAY! I'm super stoked. I have been waiting forever to get my own jewelry stuff going and the time is near. LOL I need to work on it some more and get a TON of supplies but I'm really excited that at least it's moving forward. The one big issue that I have is design. I totally suck at it and sit there for hours just staring blankly into my stuff. I have no idea what I'm doing. Then I start putting something together and I don't like it and take it apart over and over again. I think one of the problem is that I really don't want to copy anyone's stuff. Not that it isn't wrong in the first place but I really just want something that's unique. I do use certain pieces I have or see as inspiration sometimes but I try to make it as different as I possibly can, which is more than I can say for some other people. It's gotta be one of the worst things to see someone not only copy someone else's stuff but when it's ugly it's just wrong. LOL
Where'd the Time Go?!
I have two way younger cousins that are coming out from Germany soon and it's pretty crazy how much they've grown up. It's only been maybe a year or two since I last saw them but I always seem to forget how old they really are. Each time they've come out I've always tried to get them something neat that they couldn't get at home but this time it's much harder. I have no idea what to get them that isn't the usual video game stuff or something like that. It feels like one day they were tiny and talking to me about horses, breeches (what ever those are), one's love of sushi, and any other thing that little kids can make sound like the most exciting thing on Earth, and the next it was High School Musical, Hanna Montana, and Nintendo games. What happened?! LOL! I know it's not long that little No-No ends up like this and I'm trying to savor each moment. Shes' already changed SO much in two years that I just really don't wanna see her totally grow up. Actually, I'm scared and pray she's nothing like how I was. LOL
Shop-a-holic!
While I was out shopping for our new bedding I saw some of the cutest things and had a really hard time not buying almost everything I saw. My first stop for this kind of stuff is always IKEA. Their bedding is cheap enough for me and it actually lasts for a really long time. Granted, it's not the most luxurious but there are different scales so you can get something pretty decent and put it altogether for under a couple of hundred bucks. It used to be that my comforter cover alone would cost me over $300 but those days are long gone.
Anyway, I almost came out with the whole store! I was all over each department like I'd never been there before trying not to grab one thing from each. they had the some of the cutest pet beds which made me want to replace everything I have for the cats too. Of course they weren't practical but very cute. I was good and passed on those...but I did pick up some other semi random things along the way. Still, I was good and my whole total was under $300! Now that's some serious bargain hunting!

Ready fo a New Day
I haven't posted for so long! I hope everyone had a super Easter and had some sort of relaxing spring break if you had one. Mine was nice, loud but nice. The kids really enjoyed it and No-No was excited to have her first "real" Easter. She had tons of fun during the egg hunt and it was very much like her to be hurling eggs into her basket as if she were playing a game of basketball. It was not at all easy to keep her from eating all her treats that morning and the days to follow either. LOL
I Woke up nice and early today after having a pretty crappy night so I'm really looking forward to having a better, more positive, day today. I had done our taxes really late but we finally got some money so it was exciting to go out and buy all new bedding. I did feel like some kind of idiot buying a new down comforter in 90 degree weather but hey, I must have gotten one of the best deals. LOL I'm REALLY looking forward to getting it all set up and pretty today. I've NEVER had a pretty bed complete with throw pillows so my idea of exciting is pretty small. We've got family coming in a couple of months so it's time to clean and weed out all of our old things too. I can't wait to finally get rid of all the junk we have...like this old Samsonite luggage. I've been trying to get rid of it for years and all I keep hearing is "it's still good". Um, sorry, no it's not. Yay for a brighter and lighter day!

The End of an ERa
I'm SO sad that ER is gone for good now. I can remember sitting down religiously every Thursday to watch it. Of course after a while I kept forgetting that it was on too. Last night Yes-Yes and I both sat down to watch the final ER show and it was almost as sad to me as when Mark Green died. Oh that was THE saddest episode ever. By the end of that one I was sitting here bawling my eyes out. Even last night when they showed clips of it on the re-cap show I started crying. LOL It's amazing how we can become so close to characters.
I'm REALLY going to miss watching ER though. TV is filled with so many crappy sitcoms and reality shows that there's hardly anything to watch anymore. Well, given that we don't have cable...there's almost never anything decent to watch. I was rather disappointed that George Clooney wasn't part of the last show and only a few came back. The original cast was such a terrific match. They had a chemistry that is so rare and only the good shows will end up with them. Oh well, at least I can still watch the episode I've missed...thank God for re-runs, the internet, and DVDs. As soon as it was over last night Yes-Yes says to me, "I can't believe I've never watched ER! It's SO good...too bad it's over! Let's get all the episodes and watch them in order." Um, that's YEARS of TV to watch...but we may have to do it. LOL

A Fat America
Doesn't it seem like everyday there are more and more commercials claiming to have best diet pill? Sometimes I have to wonder if those actually do work. lol Weight loss is such a huge industry in this country that it's really a pretty sad thing.
I admit it, I've bought into it too after having both kids too. Like many other girls I've had my fair share of pills, videos, pieces of equipment, etc. What can I say...I'm a sucker for things advertised on TV. LOL!
All I can say is that if someone needs to go out of business it's those stupid people that produce high fructose corn syrup. It's SO involved and I'm totally not gonna go into a rant but it's because that stuff is in all of our food that we're getting SO fat. I'm going to leave it there before I really go off. ;o)

Fix It!
Ugh, I am SO tired of things not getting done around the house. Each of us has an area that we've ended up responsible for and of course my step dad is maintenance. The stupid light in our kitchen went out days ago and he's done nothing. Yeah he normally works at night and is "hardly home" but he's been on vacation and still hasn't done anything. He gets up super late (about when my mom gets home from work), sits on his butt, and that's it! Here I am trying to be more pro-active and want to cook to save us from spending tons of money eating out and I can't see anything! It's a chain reaction when people don't fulfill their part, you know? It's driving me nuts. I wouldn't doubt that the house falls into such disrepair that we end up having to go to one of those extended stay hotels so we can function. UGH
