I am WAY too excited! I JUST found out, no thanks to Yes-Yes, that Guitar Hero Metallica is coming out soon. Woohoo! I can't wait to play that! I'm so glad that they decided to bump up the Wii version from May too. That really wouldn't have been good. It's nice to see that the Wii is being taken a little more seriously as for profitability. The cool part is that the bundle we're getting also throws in a dual guitar case with it too so that's another plus.
Speaking of cases, one of my friends is going on a trip and needs a new suitcase. I heard Samsonite is a good brand that's reasonably priced but is there another one that's better?

I Pitty the Fool...
When I was young, one of my all time favorite shows was the A-Team. Mr. T kicked ass I swear. LOL! That was one show I could never get tired of. Even though Mr. T was my hero, Murdock had to be one of the best characters. They really did a great job with the mix and balance of them...and the things they came up with were awesome!
So, to my shock and almost horror, I'm sitting here (late night) with infomercials on the TV and I look up to see Mr. T pushing the FlavorWave Turbo! OMG! I know he has to work and make money too, but man! This has got to be one of THE saddest things I have ever seen. I'm so depressed. LOL Not only is his acting totally awful, it's almost pointless that he's even in this commercial. Oh Mr. T...what happened?! This is totally not the way I wanted to remember him. I'm so sad!
EDIT: OH NO! The woman even gave him a gold chain with a HUGE FlavorWave logo hanging from it! Now I'm REALLY sad.

Dumb People
So I went to Circuit City today to see what kind of stuff is left. There wasn't a whole lot of anything worth being interested in and if you ask me, the bigger items are a total gamble. To me the bargain price really isn't worth risking knowing that I wouldn't be able to return what ever it is if something went wrong. Then I'd have to rely on the manufacturer and we all know what a pain it can be to get them to do anything.
While we were waiting in a held up line, Yes-Yes and I figured out what the problem was. After watching a woman try to return or exchange something that she JUST bought and being upset when the manager told her "sorry", we realized that the man at the front of the line was trying to do the same thing. After being told he'd have to go to the manufacturer, he went up to the manager and told him that they sold him a non-working radio. The man didn't test it before he bought it and then found that it only worked for a short time before dying on him. Of course he was told the same as the woman before him and was referred to the big signs when he protested.
I REALLY do not understand how dumb some people can be. They see giant, brightly colored sale signs and just throw their money out the window. I can see wanting a good deal but even I walked out with a handful of DVDs and a flash drive. There is no way that you could get me to spend money on something that may completely break down and become trash. I just stood there and felt REALLY bad for these employees. Could you imagine having to deal with all that complaining and stupidity all day? I think I sympathise more because I've done it. And that's exactly why I don't do it anymore. ;o) I may end up going back before they totally go out though...there was a good deal on a tv stand that caught my eye.

Easy Cooking
I am SO excited! My mom FINALLY forked out and got a slow cooker! WOOHOO!!! LMAO! Sorry, maybe that was a little too much celebrating. LOL
I have been dying to get something to make dinner go faster but *ahem* my mother had her mind set on a certain one and wouldn't let me get anything else. That was rather convenient for me though. Since she wanted what she wanted, I didn't have to pay for it. LOL
I think we're breaking it in for dinner. We have been wanting to make a yummy beef stew lately with all the yucky weather, so we went and bought some stuff to make it. The only thing is that right now the weather isn't cold and rainy right now so it's not as "comforting" as it could be eating it. Oh well...at least the weather will be nice enough for me to work off the stew. One of the best fat burners is just getting outside. Our backyard looks like a jungle!

Croup?
No-No has totally lost her voice along with not being able to breathe clearly, lots of phlegm, runny nose, drooling, and a few other things. She hasn't had a fever in a day or two so that's good. I think it's croup but hardly know what that is. I did look it up and I guess it's some sort of laryngitis type of infection in young kids, basically.
I feel awful! She sounds SO terrible and can't cough up all the junk that's making it hard for her. She barley can sleep for more than 3 hours at a time and wakes up freaking out because she's coughing on yuck. Other than all the things I've said, you certainly wouldn't know she was sick by her energy level. She is still running all over the house terrorizing anything that she can. At least I know it can't be as bad as it seems then. If she weren't up at all then I'd be worried.
Anyone have any suggestions on what I can do? I always considered this some old time illness and never knew kids still got it. Does it last long? If you have any experience with croups, any advice is welcome for sure!

Winter Has Come to CA
After a LONG dry spell, we are finally getting the much needed rain out here that we've all been waiting for. Right now we are awaiting the next storm which is due within a few days. I am really glad that we may not have to ration our water and get charged heavy fees but I can't stand the rain. Going out is such a pain when you have young ones and have a ton of junk that you have to take with you. Then there's the stroller too...blech.
Our backyard has been totally neglected since the rain didn't let up for more than a day in the last week or so. The weeds are almost two feet tall now and seeding so there will be tons of stuff to hack at out there, even later. During the n between periods it's kinda crappy because we're running all over trying to get whatever we can done before it comes back again. We love to sit out there but all of the patio furniture is still covered in tarps and stuff and taking it out isn't even worth it. I can't wait for spring to come and we can clean up and get planting again. I have finally run out of my homemade pesto and I can't wait to get the basil in the ground. YUM!

Going Digital
Well, I've kind of been updating on what it's like with those digital converter boxes over the last month or two. Here's the final consensus...we are SO getting satellite!
Currently we have three boxes, one is hooked up to our old roof-top antenna and that one works (sort of, doesn't pick up all the channels we could have), one is hooked up in my parent's room and is never on because it picks up nothing, and the third is in its box sitting in my closet waiting to go back because it doesn't pick up anything in our room either. We live in one of THE worst areas to be trying to pick up any signals so this is why I had a feeling that they wouldn't work. Hopefully the store won't think I've actually used it and will refund me since it's been a while since I bought it. We all got sick and there was no way I was leaving the house then.
It's such a pain knowing that I had to spend about $100 on an antenna and box that won't work for us and may not get that money back. Ugh. I di wish that we had the money to replace our TV and get an LCD HDTV but I don't think that would make any difference either and we'd still have to get a service, so I'd much rather spend the money on the service alone. Man, it's such an ordeal. Thank goodness they've extended the transition date.

♥♥♥
Well, even though I'm not all into Valentine's Day, I hope everyone had a decent one. This year was different. DH finally got the cold that's been going through the house so he stayed home while the rest of us went into the city. Every Saturday we have my grandma and try to find something fun to do where she could get out and see something. So we headed up to see the relatively new Academy of Sciences (aquarium) but when we got there it was sold out. Total bummer. Instead we ended up at the mall downtown and walked around there. Then I just ended up depressed that I didn't have a ton of money to blow.
Today did give me some insight into my life though. It was funny because DH got me a card for V-Day and when I opened it it turned out to be the exact same card he got me for our 6 month anniversary almost 14 years ago. Of course he didn't know and I haven't said anything yet but I thought that it was a really interesting thing. It kind of gave me the sign that our life together may be coming together after all. Funny how those things happen huh?

Bulge Battle
I have finally started losing weight! WooHoo!!! Actually, the way that I've been losing hasn't been all that great. I've basically been fasting because I ended up totally losing any appetite since I got sick with this last cold or whatever it is. It's kinda crappy because the only time I really eat is when I have something that I absolutely am craving to have, otherwise I really can't eat anything. I am planning on dieting and what not and had started taking some diet pills before I got sick to help jump start myself but haven't done anything in about two weeks. Well, at least I've started going in the right direction...even if it's not the way that I've planned it.
Here Kitty, Kitty
A couple of weeks ago there was a mountain lion sighting in an area not too far from us. It was totally crazy to see a tape of this big cat walking around a highly populated area and crossing the street as if it were nothing new. Some people caught the lion in the wee hours of the morning on their wireless security system. It really was super cool but super scary for all the people that live there. I haven't heard where the kitty wound up so I'm thinking that's a good sign since so many animals like this have been killed just being themselves.
Cupid's Arrow

If anyone knows me they know that I absolutely despise Valentine's Day. The whole idea that you have to make one day SO incredibly special is just retarded in my mind. It's stupid because then it's like the other 363 days of the year that we all bust our butts and try to hold it together don't matter. Well, yeah, that's just my opinion. LOL
The ONE thing that I do love about the Hallmark holiday is getting my box of See's candy. OMG, if you haven't had these it's SUCH a must. I swear there isn't any other chocolate that comes even remotely close. I think it's one of those things that makes me proud of my area. LOL!!! The chocolate comes from Guittard which is across the freeway from me and is one of THE best chocolates out there. On a good day you can smell the chocolate wafting through the air. It's about as close to what Charlie would be smelling that I can think of but of course the factory isn't nearly as fun. ;o)

Malnourished
I have now come to blame all our bodily problems on the crappy way we eat. It sucks because there really isn't a whole heck of a lot that we can do about it at the moment. I never thought that I might actually have a likely chance of getting scurvy in my life. I sometimes feel like Tiny Tim or something trying to slice my one bean on the plate with a fork and knife. The upside is that I am finally trying to take vitamins everyday, which is something that I always seem to forget about. My mom's friend told her of this place that has discount supplements so at least we can try to afford those. Now if I can just get rid of this migraine...ugh.
Where to Work
It's official, I am out looking for a job again. What a heck of a time to be trying huh? LOL There's no way that our family can stay where it is if we all don't have something steady. I'm not exactly sure how this is going to work since No-No's never been to child care, or even how we are going to afford that, so it should be interesting. My BFF's fiance can't find anything either since he's gotten out of school. Apparently there aren't any jobs in business and if there are he can't find one. *sigh*

A New Addiction
So since I've been sick I started playing around on Facebook a lot more. Now I'm totally hooked! I think I ended up with about 20 friends added today alone. It's SO crazy seeing all these people that I went to school with once upon a time. Through the pictures you can still see some of the little kids that we were but I sure as heck wouldn't know them if I passed them on the street. Well, some of them anyway. It's like making new friends all over again except that we have some similar memories.
I was even about to not add all kinds of people because I could swear that no one would ever remember me. I mean, why would they? I never did anything significant and even disappeared after some time. I always thought that I was a big loser for remembering so many people, their names, and quirky things about them. Now I've actually got people from kindergarten talking to me about things that I had totally forgotten about. Funny how things work out sometimes.
I do miss all of these people and hope that we get together some day. Just not any day soon...I need to lose some weight first. Although, there are talks of a middle school reunion. Can you imagine? MIDDLE SCHOOL! I'd better get a move on! LOL!

Not Again!
Well, we didn't beat the bug again. Yes-Yes got sick and within a few days I caught it too. I know my mom is next and hopefully No-No won't get it too badly if she does. Now both of us are in bed coughing our lungs out all day and all night. I can't sleep because it's either way too cold or way too hot. The cold hurts so we have to have heaters on but then it's so hot we can't breathe. I was kinda thinking of getting one of those dehumidifiers but then that might just mess everything up. Maybe if we lived in a more tropical climate but here it's normally just right except for that it's raining right now.
Superbowl Supper
Wow it's been a few days hasn't it? I promise I'll be updating more often. Things always seem to get just a little crazy when I think there's finally a balance.
So did you all get to see the Superbowl? Normally I watch it but only because it's the last game of the season that I have to deal with. LOL Plus I LOVE the commercials! I was totally stoked about the 3-D commercials for Sobe but missed them. Actually I missed almost all of them. My mom and I decided to go and get a bunch of snacky food to eat all day but ended up leaving way late and went food shopping galore. Then while we were at one store the barcode scanner thingy busted and backed up the line. We thought that everyone would be watching some where so it would be a good day to shop but there were still quite a few people out. By the time I sat down to watch, it was the top of the 4th quarter and we had missed everything. Oh well, I'm not sure the 3-D was all that great anyway because the next day we watched Chuck with them on and it was SO not worth it. Bummer!
