I am still trying to get a handle on all the chaos in this house. I've been trying and trying for months but it almost seems endless. Home organizing looks so easy in all those magazines that swear to help you. Have you ever taken a really good look at the pictures? For example, they'll show you a bookcase and how every shelf has like 5-10 books or magazines stacked flat with some bowl or box or something on top of it. This looks really nice and all but I wanna know how this is functional. Do people really organize homes like this?! Highly doubtful unless they don't live there half the time.
And why us it that to be organized you have to go out and buy all sorts of things that hang, divide, or stack. What if you have absolutely no room to even put those things?! I've seen all kinds of makeover things that focus on small spaces where they change everything from light bulbs to storage but then it ends up looking like the room actually lost a whole lot of space. I am really at such a loss when it comes to organizing that I'm almost about to give up...not to mention that I can't afford to go out and get everything on a checklist that is supposed to make things easier.

To me clutter has always been link with my state of mind when I lose hope, or when I am lightly depressed It starts piling up.
As soon as I feel better I make a big clean up.

You can find some great tips if you visit some organizing blogs.
I had a stager come in when our house was on the market.(she came with the realtor, I wouldn't have hired her myself) She stacked books flat and put pictures and other knick-knacks on them. It drove me crazy! As soon as we took our house off the market I put all my books back they way I had them.
It can look cute for decoration purposes but I wouldn't do it if it were books I wanted to actually have easy access to.
